National Guardsman Arrested for Allegedly Trying to Carry Out Attack for ISIS

A United States National Guardsman has been arrested on charges he attempted to join ISIS and carry out an attack for the terrorist group on a U.S. military facility.

Army National Guard Specialist Hasan Edmonds, along with his cousin Jonas, were arrested by the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force and, according to the DOJ, were charged yesterday with trying to provide material support and resources to ISIS.

And not only that, both men allegedly planned to carry out an attack against a military facility in Illinois. The DOJ says they presented their plan to an undercover FBI employee and said “they would use Hasan Edmonds’ uniforms and the information he supplied about how to access the installation and target officers for attack.”

Edmonds had reportedly planned to fly to Cairo so he could join up with ISIS, but was caught at Midway Airport in Chicago and arrested.
