Oakland Raiders defensive lineman Aldon Smith, currently under suspension for a substance abuse violation, denies that he’s broken NFL drug rules again. But questions are surfacing after the emergence of a video which has been making the rounds on social media.
CSN Bay Area discovered a video posted on a Periscope account which has previously been used by Smith. In it, a man and a woman not seen on camera are heard discussing a hand-rolled cigarette, which is seen on camera.
At the end of the video, the man is heard saying “they don’t know it’s me. It’s not like I put ‘Aldon Smith.'”
Smith denied that he’s the man in the video.
“Good try, not me,” Smith wrote on Twitter.
The Raiders star is serving a year-long suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. As it stands, he he apply for reinstatement in September, and potentially return to the field in November. But ESPN is reporting that the NFL is planning to investigate the matter.
