Obama Channels M.C. Hammer In New ‘U Didn’t Build That’ Video

A new video hits President Barack Obama‘s “you didn’t build that” remark by meshing those words with M.C. Hammer‘s well-known tune, “Can’t Touch This.”

From the man who brought us a similar video, “Will the Real Mitt Romney Please Stand Up,” comes this next iteration. Hugh Atkin, an Australian lawyer has been involved with viral political videos since 2008.

“U Didn’t Build That” by MC ‘Bama is essentially a mashup of various moments from the 2012 campaign — ranging from the president giving speeches, to First Lady Michelle Obama dancing — all set to the song we all know well.

“You didn’t build that,” you’ll recall, is a comment that quickly became a target for Republicans’ attacks toward the president, who they argue doesn’t support small business and free enterprise.

“If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help,” Obama said back in July. “There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.”
