Obama Disses HuffPost After Writing Op-Ed for HuffPost
President Obama spoke at a Democratic retreat last night and made an off-the-cuff remark about a good media diet for Democrats to follow. He said members should “get informed, not by reading the Huffington Post.”
He made similar comments three years ago about how HuffPost views him as some kind of “right-wing tool of Wall Street.”
But last night’s remarks have their own special brand of irony: earlier yesterday an op-ed written by President Obama appeared on The Huffington Post. Yes, HuffPost gave Obama column space to write about his budgetary goals, and what does he do? He tells people you’ll be better informed if you stay away from sites like HuffPost.
Sam Stein, the political editor and White House Correspondent for HuffPost, fired back on Twitter last night:
Huffpost blogger @BarackObama tells House Dems not to trust Huffpost https://t.co/FTBb2B8j6b (was told this was wrt trade specifically)

I guess Obama just doesn’t like us (but at least he’s reading!) here was him in 2011 pic.twitter.com/xBTRROJ629

Obama was right though that huffpost would criticize Lincoln for selling out the slaves. We found the issue. pic.twitter.com/I2OU0roqsH
