Old-School Sesame Street Episode On Trump: ‘Who’s Got More Trash Than Anyone Else?’

Happy Saturday, my friends! Have you ever seen this old episode of Sesame Street? I don’t mean like, old-old, because the episodes I watched when I was little were already two decades into the show’s run, but this one is from 2005, so it’s not brand spankin’ new, either.

This is about Donald Trump Grump, a grouchy puppet with a throng of adoring fans and “the most trash of any grouch in the world.”

The character’s vast wealth, massive ego, bad attitude, and need for an apprentice — “a helpah” — are all addressed in the episode. Every time the Grump taunts the other puppets, they respond unthinkingly by taunting one another back.

When Elmo comes forward, looking to be the apprentice, the other grumps say, “You can’t be the helper! You’re not a grouch!”
