One Pedestrian Killed, Bus Driver Reportedly Stabbed After Hijacking in Washington D.C.
Washington D.C police put out a warning today after a Metrobus driver came under attack by an assailant who then reportedly attempted to hijack the vehicle.
While initial reports suggest that there are multiple perpetrators, DC police are telling reporters that a young suspect boarded a bus in Northeast Washington, reportedly stabbed the driver, and then attempted to steal it at around 11 A.M. today. The bus has already been recovered by the police. One pedestrian died in the hospital after being hit.
The suspect has been taken into custody, and according to Metro Police, the bus operator suffered no life-threatening injuries and the passengers were not harmed.
The situation is still developing, but DC Police is continually tweeting updates about the incident:
