The antidote to Hate… VOTE your love!

Oprah Winfrey is hitting back at the racist robocalls targeting her for supporting Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams.

There have been a number of reports recently of Georgia residents who’ve received calls from someone pretending to be “magical negro Oprah Winfrey, asking you to make my fellow negress, Stacey Abrams.” In response to this, the real Winfrey put out a statement on Instagram to condemn the video and call on people to vote in the midterm elections.

“Jesus don’t like ugly,” Winfrey said. “And we know what to do about that: vote. Tomorrow show up and show out, and vote.”

The robocalls were reportedly created by TheRoadToPower.com, a video podcasting site flagged by the Anti-Defamation League for white supremacist and anti-semitic content. Brian Kemp, Abrams’ Republican rival, condemned the calls in a statement disavowing “any person or organization that peddles this type of unbridled hate and unapologetic bigotry.”
