Oregon Gov. Performs CPR on Woman Dying in the Street
Since Oregon’s health care exchange website ain’t working, maybe the state can just have its governor administer health care personally.
Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber (D), formerly an emergency room doctor, was on his way to dinner in Portland Monday evening when he spotted someone attempting to resuscitate a person by the side of the road. Kitzhaber ordered his driver to pull over, leapt from the car, and began performing CPR on the unconscious woman.
Kitzhaber also ordered a member of his detail to call paramedics, who arrived several minutes later and applied a defibrillator to the woman; the medics indicated she had “possibly overdosed.” The woman was taken to OHSU, where she is expected to recover.
