Palin’s CPAC Speech Stuns Media Figures on Twitter
One month after she delivered a bizarrely incoherent speech at the Iowa Freedom Summit, which caused even Sean Hannity to ask if her teleprompter had gone down, Sarah Palin took on military issues at CPAC 2015 on Thursday. And in the process, she shocked reporters who were eagerly watching along and hoping to witness another train wreck.
But when Palin managed to offer up a strongly-opinionated speech that honored veterans and was completely devoid of props, Twitter reacted with some unexpected praise:
This is actually a kind of nice, non bomb throwing speech from Palin so far about military families

Palin is speaking respectfully about veterans and their families.

Palin is paying tribute to veterans, raising concerns about mental health issues. A far better use of her platform.

Sarah Palin's speech is less stupid than all of the other speeches I've seen today. #CPAC2015

This Palin speech is going so well it's practically uneventful.

Palin is actually giving the one original speech at CPAC. fully focused on veteran’s issues and with actual policy suggestions

it says quite a bit that people are congratulating Palin for not getting up behind a podium and spewing 28 minutes of tangy bile

Palin delivering completely sane, serious and – dare i say – eloquent, speech

Of course, the feedback wasn’t all positive, especially as the speech progressed:
Palin's speech on veterans issues was quite strong at the beginning, now it's kind of veering off a bit #CPAC2015

…oh, and here comes the Palin we all know and love
— Kendall Breitman (@KendallBreitman) February 26, 2015
Palin re 'We can't kill our way out of this mess': "Tell that to the Nazis. You can't, they're dead. We killed them."
