Partisan Divide: GOP, Dems Can’t Even Agree On Whether Olive Garden Constitutes ‘Authentic Ethnic Food’
America is a deeply divided nation, folks, and nowhere is that more evident than in the new poll that highlights another source of disagreement between Democrats and Republicans: food. Indeed, the two sides of the aisle can’t even agree on whether Olive Garden constitutes “quality authentic ethnic food.”
Democrats are all about the bagels (34 percent) while Republicans choose donuts (35 percent). In terms of fast food, Democrats prefer KFC over Chick-fil-A (39 percent to 18 percent), while Republicans prefer the opposite (48 percent to 29 percent). Diet soda wins over Democrats, while their opponents prefer regular.
And then there’s Olive Garden. Is it “a quality source of authentic ethnic food”? Forty-four percent of Democrats say no, but 43 percent of Republicans disagree.
All is not lost, however. Breakfast leads the day as a point of agreement (everyone likes pancakes better than waffles and french toast), while dinner rounds out the day as everyone’s favorite meal. Coke is the victor over Pepsi.
On a more serious note, Democrats and Republicans also agree on a more substantial point: They’d be willing to pay more to allow employees to have health care. Seventy-two percent of Democrats said they would, as did 41 percent of Republicans.
