Paul Ryan on Trump’s Attacks on Judge: ‘Hopefully a Lesson Will Be Learned Here’
Paul Ryan is one of many Republicans who continues to hope Donald Trump will evolve and grow, even though there’s been nothing to indicate so far he’s been doing that.
Ryan today condemned Trump’s attacks on the Hispanic judge in the Trump University case as clearly racist, but he’s still endorsing and supporting Trump anyway.
And in an interview with CBS News, Ryan said, “Hopefully this is an inflection point. Hopefully a lesson will be learned here.”
(Take note of the passive voice.)
He again said that the notion that someone’s ethnicity “affects the way they do their job” is antithetical to what Republicans believe.
