PETA Asked Twitter to Make The Case For Bacon — And Sen. Orrin Hatch Did Some Serious Trolling

PETA sent out a poorly considered tweet on Wednesday, asking the always considerate folks on Twitter to present their “best argument for eating bacon.”

Now, the animal rights organization is known for its vehement opposition to the consumption of meat, along with a number of other offenses that impinge on the rights of animals.

But going after bacon, the holy grail of America’s meat fetish, was a step too far for Twitter users, who inundated PETA’s mentions with a litany of replies — including a number of tongue-in-bacon-filled-cheek jabs from Utah Senator Orrin Hatch:
