The Philadelphia Flyers debuted their new mascot today named “Gritty,” a freakish looking brown, furry creature that resembles a Sasquatch — which resulted in most of Twitter condemning the character as nightmare fuel.
Shortly after his unveiling, Gritty began using his morbid, haunting appearance to intimidate opposing teams on social media.

While the intern in charge of the Flyers’ Twitter account might be a fan of Gritty, most people on Twitter were not, as he was welcomed into the world with a barrage of mockery and terrified reactions:
Wow. Gritty is an absolute dream haunter. Stay hot Philly pic.twitter.com/hNOJhNhjWO

I guess Gritty is an improvement over the Flyers’ last mascot, which was a guy named Nick in carpenter jeans and a Blue Lives Matter hoodie
