Police Officer Shot in Kansas City, Suspect in Custody (UPDATED)
A police officer in Kansas City, Kansas has been shot this afternoon, according to police chief Terry Ziegler:
We have an officer shot at 22nd & Haskell. Start prayers, unknown condition.

According to the Kansas City Star, there were multiple suspects who fled, and one is currently in custody. The officer was critically injured.
Police are currently searching the area for additional suspects.
UPDATE –– 5:12 pm EDT: The officer has died:
