Poll: Pretty Much Everybody Wants Airport Screening for Ebola
The good news from this morning’s Washington Post/ABC News poll on ebola: two-thirds of Americans are confident that the federal government and local health infrastructures can handle ebola.
However, the same number is also concerned about a widespread ebola epidemic in the United States, and 43% believed they or a family member could personally contract the virus.
All of which explains the other notable findings: a whopping 91% believe the TSA should be screening air travelers from west Africa, while 67% support restricting travel from the affected region to the United States. Overall two-thirds believed the U.S. could be doing more to combat the virus’ spread in the U.S.
The public is split on President Barack Obama’s response to the virus, which is a back massage compared to some of his other numbers.
