R. Kelly Charged With Ten Counts of Aggravated Sexual Abuse

Rapper R. Kelly was charged with ten counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse Friday morning, the Chicago Sun Times reports. According to Cook County court records, his first court date is listed as March 8.
Kelly’s arrest comes after a wave of women hit him with a variety of sexual misconduct and rape charges. Three of the charges made reference to a minor between the ages of 13 and 16, according to the Chicago Tribune.
This would be the singer’s second time being hit with a sexual abuse charge from Cook County. The first time he was acquitted after being accused of filming himself having sex with his goddaughter of about 13.
According to sources for the Sun Times, prosecutors appeared in front of a judge Friday afternoon to sign off on the singer’s arrest warrant. Kelly’s attorney, Steven Greenberg, said his client denies the accusations against him and is confident the charges will be cleared.
