Reince Priebus: Hillary Clinton Is ‘Not That Good at Politics’

Last Friday, Hillary Clinton rolled out a brand new talking point during an event for Massachusetts Senate candidate Martha Coakley, in which she asserted that corporations and businesses don’t create jobs — a line that raised eyebrows nationwide. Naturally, GOP Chairman Reince Priebus took issue with that.

“I think she’s trying too hard and she’s not really good at this stuff,” he told Steve Malzberg. “I gotta tell you, I think that she is bordering on becoming sort of a caricature of someone on the outside looking in. If you look at what she’s trying to emulate, she’s trying to be Elizabeth Warren. It’s pretty of obvious.

“She’s not that good at politics,” he added, also getting a zing in at her book roll-out. “If she was careful politically, what she should be doing is saying, ‘Listen, it’s not just one guy in the corner office that creates the jobs, it’s a whole team of people who work hard every day and go to work, punch a clock, and make this place tick.’ I get that message. I understand that message. But the way she did it, honestly, shows that she is not ready for primetime.”
