Report: Trump Would Change Laws to Purge Govt. of Obama Hires
It looks like a Trump presidency will resemble a Trump reality show, insofar as the Donald intends to fire a whole lot of people.
Behind closed doors, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie explained to Republican donors that the Trump campaign was drafting a list of federal government employees to sack in the event that the GOP nominee is elected, Reuters’ Emily Flitter reported.
To this end, Trump would seek to change the laws to permit a mass purging of federal government officials hired by Barack Obama.
Per Reuters:
“One of the things I have suggested to Donald is that we have to immediately ask the Republican Congress to change the civil service laws. Because if they do, it will make it a lot easier to fire those people,” Christie said.
He said firing civil servants was “cumbersome” and “time-consuming.”
Christie, who is leading Trump’s White House transition team, noted that a top priority for culling would be the Environmental Protection Agency and that Trump “likes to fire people.”
