Robin Williams’ Daughter Returns to Social Media: ‘Never Be Bullied Into Silence’
Zelda Williams, the 25-year-old daughter of Robin Williams, decided to quit social media last month after being the subject of vicious trolling following her father’s suicide. But this weekend, she decided to return, posting a link on Twitter to a quote by Williams’ Mrs. Doubtfire co-star Harvey Fierstein on her Tumblr account:
Thank you. http://t.co/e2hve7fD50
— Zelda Williams (@zeldawilliams) September 1, 2014
The full quote reads:
“Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one’s definition of your life; define yourself.”
The message was the first sent by Williams since August 12, the day after her father’s death, when she sent this tweet about her decision to delete the platform from her devices:
I'm sorry. I should've risen above. Deleting this from my devices for a good long time, maybe forever. Time will tell. Goodbye.
