Roger Stone Column for Daily Caller Appears to Lift Language and Research From Conservative Blog (UPDATED)
Trump ally Roger Stone penned a column for The Daily Caller that appears to mimic language and research from a conservative blog without attribution.
In the column, which was published Monday, Stone accuses Ted Cruz of being an “establishment globalist” who has duped conservatives into believing that he serves their interests.
The similarities between Stone’s column and a post on the Conservative Tree House originally published in Nov. 2015 by an author named “sundance,” were noticed by Media Matters‘ Eric Hananoki, who identified five paragraphs where Stone’s piece uses almost identical language and research from the Conservative Tree House piece without citing or linking to it.

UPDATE — 6:27 p.m. ET: The post has been removed from the Daily Caller‘s website without comment and does not appear on Roger Stone’s author page for the site. A request for comment to Roger Stone’s website went unreturned. Stone’s tweet calling attention to the column is still live (screengrab below):

UPDATE — 04/27/16, 10:30 a.m. ET: Roger Stone is standing by his piece, although it has been removed from the Caller‘s website. He writes on Twitter: “Plagiarism ? Hardly . Research provided by my friend Kelleigh Nelson. All facts correct. Public education”
