Romney Adviser Eric Fehrnstrom Hits Back At News That Etch-a-Sketch Stock Has Skyrocketed

Upon hearing the news of Etch-a-Sketch’s stock price exploding following his controversial quip about Etcha-a-Sketches, Mitt Romney‘s top adviser Eric Fehrnstrom hit back at the snark, jokingly tweeting that he’ll help make another ’80s-era toy popular again. “Etch A Sketch stock is up? Psst, I’ll mention Mr. Potato Head next. Buy Hasbro,” Fehrnstrom tweeted.

In the aftermath of the Etch-a-Sketch political drama that encapsulated the 2012 Republican nomination battle on Wednesday, Ohio Art, the company that manufactures Etch-a-Sketch, saw its stock skyrocket an astronomical 212.5 percent following Fehrnstrom‘s comment that compared the beginning of the general election campaign to shaking up an Etch-a-Sketch.

“It’s almost like an Etch-a-Sketch,” Fehrnstrom said on CNN’s Starting Point Wednesday. “You can kind of shake it up and we start all over again.”
