Rupert Murdoch on Midterms: It Will Be ‘Very Wrong’ if GOP Doesn’t Win Big
News Corp. Executive Chairman Rupert Murdoch is something of a right-of-center pragmatist politically but there’s no confusion about what he wants to see in the upcoming midterm elections: Republicans crushing Democrats.
Murdoch wrote on Twitter Sunday regarding widespread sentiment in the political world that the GOP will be keeping control of the House and very likely taking the Senate.
“Election polls mostly very close, but something very wrong if no Republican wave,” he wrote.
Murdoch reportedly attended a GOP fundraiser in the first half of October. Relatedly, he was spotted by Bloomberg Politics‘ Mark Halperin having a conversation with former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney. The talk between the two supposedly got “tongues a wagging” over 2016.
