Limbaugh Attacks Piers Morgan And MSNBC’s Wagner For ‘Trying To Blame Conservatives’ For CT Shooting

During his syndicated radio show Friday afternoon, conservative host Rush Limbaugh went after several liberal television personalities for what he believed to be their advancing of an anti-gun agenda in the wake of the tragic massacre in Newtown, Conn., that left dead at least 27, including 20 children.

“A terrible and awful thing has happened in Connecticut at a school in Newtown, Connecticut, I’m told,” he began. “A shooting at a school, 26 people dead, including 18 children. It’s just awful. It is terrible, incomprehensible. But I’m gonna tell you something: As we sit here at this very moment, you know it and I know it, there are liberals trying to find a way to blame this on conservatives and Republicans.”

He then sounded off several examples he believes fit that description. First, he cited MSNBC “hostette” Alex Wagner, who said earlier today that “One would hope that there will be some political capital to reform” gun laws.

“So they’re already calculating,” Limbaugh reacted to Wagner’s soundbite. “That’s what so peeves me about these people. You’ve got a horrible event here, and they’re already looking to politicize it. It’s not what it is. It’s an opportunity! These people look at stuff like this as an opportunity to advance their agenda or blame conservatives. The shooter’s dead.”

He continued: “By the way, to all you leftists who, in a sickening fashion, are trying to conceive ways to politicize this just awful incident in Newtown, Connecticut, trying to find a way to get rid of guns, trying to find a way to politicize this and advance your agenda, let me just point out we had guns 30, 40, 50, a hundred years ago, and we didn’t have mass murders every other month.”

Later on, he took a shot at CNN’s Piers Morgan, who tweeted this morning that this tragedy should be the call-to-arms for stricter gun control that the Aurora, Col., shooting seemingly was not: “Nothing happened after Aurora. Now it must,” he wrote.

“We don’t even know what happened yet,” Limbaugh said. “We know the end result of what happened, but we don’t know anything about this yet, and the left is already mobilized. As they always will and always do, they try to politicize the event for their advantage, mobilize down their anti-gun highway.”
