Sean Hannity Blasts Roseanne For ‘Outrageous Comment’
Fox News kingpin and Trump darling Sean Hannity is the latest to weigh in on the tweet that sunk a second season––Roseanne Barr‘s racist suggestion that former Obama senior adviser Valerie Jarrett would be the product if the “Muslim Brotherhood and Planet of the Apes had a baby.”
Now, you may expect Hannity to fall on the “free speech” side of this conversation, like a few of his colleagues at Fox News did.
But Hannity went for the jugular, condemning Barr for the tweet.
“It is an outrageous comment,” Hannity said on his radio show Tuesday. “She was right to apologize.”
“I think with social media a lot of people just send things out,” Hannity continued. “Especially comedians are always in danger ’cause they just think they’re being funny and they’re not.”
Hannity added that he’d be discussing the tweet and the subsequent cancellation of Roseanne on his show Tuesday night. Incidentally, the president will also be holding a rally tonight in Nashville, TN for GOP Senate candidate Marsha Blackburn.
If Trump brings up Roseanne tonight, it won’t be the first time he’s done so in a speech: During an Ohio appearance where the president was booked to speak about infrastructure, the Commander-in-Chief could barely contain his joy over the show’s successful season premiere.
