Seb Gorka Insults Alisyn Camerota in Nasty Spat: ‘More People Are Interested in Cartoons’ Than CNN

For approximately five minutes, Alisyn Camerota‘s interview with Sebastian Gorka — Deputy Assistant to President Donald Trump — was refreshingly civil. The two discussed Iraq’s declared triumph over ISIS in Mosul, and all was cordial as Gorka took a victory lap on behalf of the White House.

But then the subject turned to Russia. And the chat, as you might expect, went completely off the rails.

Camerota pressed Gorka on the meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian attorney who claimed to have damaging information on Hillary Clinton, asking if it was a good idea for Trump Jr. to take the meeting. Gorka dodged.

“Was it a good idea for the DNC to send its operatives to the Ukrainian embassy?” He said.

Then, after a few moments of back-and-forth, Gorka tried to change the subject by taking a shot at CNN’s ratings.

“The amount of time you spend in desperation on a topic that has plummeted you to 13th place in viewership ranking across America — more people watch Nick at Night cartoons than CNN today,” Gorka said.

“Our ratings are doing just fine,” Camerota said. “If you want to go there, our ratings are doing just fine.”

Nick at Night is 11 [in total viewership],” Gorka claimed. “More people are interested in cartoons!”

Camerota then asked Gorka about the seven people obligated to disclose Trump Jr.’s meeting who failed to do so. Gorka dodged…again.

“So you have a list of seven people, okay,” Gorka said. “So what about individuals who got half a million dollars to give speeches when their wife was running for president?”

In a discussion with Camerota following the interview, Chris Cuomo summed up the chat thusly:

“Good accent…good delivery,” He said. But, he added, “[Gorka] had no answers.”
