A photo taken of Miss Israel and Miss Lebanon at the Miss Universe pageant is causing significant problems for both, with Miss Lebanon Saly Greige now accusing the representative of her geopolitical foe of crashing the picture.
The pic, which also featured Miss Slovenia and Miss Japan, was posted by Miss Israel Doron Matalon on her Instagram page last week:
No sooner was it up than a Lebanese television station was reminding Greige that Israel and Lebanon ain’t exactly friends.
Two days ago, Greige took to her Facebook page and wrote in English that Miss Israel had photobombed her. “Since the first day of my arrival to participate to Miss Universe, I was very cautious to avoid being in any photo or communication with Miss Israel (that tried several times to have a photo with me),” Greige wrote. “I was having a photo with Miss Japan, Miss Slovenia and myself; suddenly Miss Israel jumped in, took a selfie, and put it on her social media.”
Matalon also took to Facebook (#Millennials) to express her disappointment in Greige. “Too bad you can not put the hostility out of the game,” she wrote.
She should try negotiating a peace treaty.
