Senate Candidate Mocks CNN as ‘Propaganda’ for Revealing Husband’s Conspiracy Theory Mongering

Arizona candidate for U.S. Senate, Kelli Ward (R), bashed CNN for dredging up her husband’s history of promoting wacky conspiracy theories online.
According to the outlet’s KFile report, Michael Ward, who has been seen helping her on the campaign trail, has made a habit on Twitter of retweeting users who’ve accused Hillary Clinton of killing off her political adversaries. He has also promoted tweets suggesting that Seth Rich, the Democratic National Committee staffer who was murdered in 2016, was behind the infamous email hacking of the organization.
In response, Ward used that same social media platform to defend her spouse, accusing CNN of attempting to undermine her run for Senate.
“Our campaign is surging,” she said, calling CNN “propaganda” and taking a swipe at the outlet for writing the wrong name in the original version of the article.
Our campaign is surging so #FakeNewsCNN goes full bonkers, sends in “detectives” to do a deep dive into my husband’s Twitter activity. This is why Americans don’t buy @CNN propaganda. Also, who’s Mark Ward? You got his name wrong in original. Top-notch “investigative journalism!” pic.twitter.com/jXKoqHGjn3

Michael’s conspiracy mongering also targeted Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), whom he claimed met with ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi by sharing an edited photo that Snopes has already debunked, noting that McCain had snapped photos with the Free Syrian Army during a 2013 visit to the Middle East.
Aside from the conspiracies, Michael has also launched other personal attacks on McCain, calling him too “scared and frail” to face off against Ward in a debate.
Ward is running on a conservative platform and has promised to work alongside President Donald Trump in putting “America first.”
