Seth Rogen Thanks Sony’s Pascal for ‘Having the Balls’ to Make The Interview

As we have learned from the massive cyber-attack on Sony Pictures, studio co-chair Amy Pascal and writer/director/actor Seth Rogen had some major disagreements about some aspects of the new film The Interview. But during his short remarks at last night’s premiere, Rogen appears to have buried the hatchet — at least publicly — with Pascal, thanking her for “having the balls” the release a movie that includes the assassination of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

In one email exchange leaked by a group that appears to affiliated with the North Korean regime, Rogen accused Pascal trying to change the movie to “make North Koreans happy” after she passed on notes about toning down a certain head explosion from Sony’s Japanese headquarters.

That issue was ultimately resolved and last night, Rogen told the audience who were about to view the film’s L.A. premiere, “Before we start this, honestly, we just want to thank Amy Pascal for having the balls to make this fucking thing!”

In an interview with Deadline about the aftermath of the leaks yesterday, Pascal confirmed that she is “completely confident in” The Interview and “determined to release the movie.” She added, “We wanted to make sure that everything in the movie was respectful, but the truth is, it’s a comedy.”
