Shameless Promo: Ohio Dems Use Charlottesville Victim’s Name to Grow Email List
The Ohio Democratic Party is shamelessly promoting themselves and growing their email list by using the tragic death of Heather Heyer — the woman killed at the Charlottesville, Virginia white supremacist rally.
“Her last words” — @OHDems are list building in the name Heather Heyer, killed in Charlottesville last weekend. (They do not ask for money.) pic.twitter.com/KHcqoFNiXf

While the email did throw in a pinch of class by offering sympathy to Heyer’s friends and family, those condolences were immediately followed by a second solicitation for email sign-ups and a request for free promotion from readers. Surprisingly enough, the email does not stoop so low as to outright ask for donations.
The signatory of the shameless promotional email was Ohio Democratic Party Chairman David Pepper.
The self-promo, in light of such tragedy, drew ire and scorn from a number of Twitter users.

“Heather Heyer died so we could have a really great hood ornament for our fall fundraising drive.”

Heyer was killed last Saturday after an alt-right extremist used a car to attack her and other counter-protesters at the “Unite the Right” white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. 19 other people were injured in the attack.
Her memorial service was held this morning at a theater in Charlottesville, Virginia.
