Showtime Cuts Ties to Mark Halperin

 

Showtime has announced that if they decide to move forward with another season of The Circus, Mark Halperin will not be part of it.

The Circus ran for two seasons––the first over the course of the election last year, the second earlier this year on the start of Donald Trump‘s presidency.

Halperin was one of the co-hosts, but recently disturbing allegations of sexual harassment have come out against him. Halperin apologized but claimed that he did not engage in this kind of behavior in “subsequent jobs” after ABC News.

HBO dropped a project with Halperin and Penguin Press cancelled its plans to publish his upcoming book on the election.

And now CNN has received a statement from Showtime saying Halperin won’t be a part of The Circus if they pursue additional seasons:
