Skip Bayless: ‘I Was Shocked’ by Ginsburg’s Rebuke of Kaepernick Protests

Tuesday on Undisputed, Skip Bayless said that he was taken aback by the progressive icon’s stance on the NFL protests against racial oppression.

“I must admit I was shocked by her comments,” Bayless said.

He added: “If she had done this a month ago, I think it would’ve been a blow to the Colin Kaepernick inspired National Anthem movement.”

Bayless has been a consistent supporter of the Anthem protests — a stance which he reiterated on Tuesday.

A protest is designed to make people uncomfortable. And as long as you don’t alienate people, as long as their ears and eyes stay open to your message, you have won. You have succeeded. And I think Colin Kaepernick and those who chose to follow him inspired a national conversation that was desperately needed in this country.

Undisputed co-host Shannon Sharpe referenced Ginsburg’s comments in which she voiced her belief in the legality of the protests, despite being personally opposed. Sharpe asked why the legality of the protests was even at issue.

“You’re talking about, ‘Should they be put in jail?'” Sharpe said. “That’s the question that we’re asking of these police officers that keep shooting these unarmed black men. Can we get some justice for them?”
