Sony Execs Reportedly Nervous About Trump AIDS Joke in Sacha Baron Cohen’s New Film
Sacha Baron Cohen––he of Ali G, Borat, and Bruno––has a big new spy movie out this month, The Brothers Grimsby. And it, um, apparently features quite the amazing Donald Trump joke.
The film had its London premiere recently, and according to multiple news outlets, there’s a scene in the movie where Daniel Radcliffe is humorously infected with AIDS after the blood of an HIV-positive child is accidentally splattered into his mouth.
And at some point in the film, apparently Radcliffe’s blood ends up infecting Trump and there are news reports about The Donald contracting AIDS. The joke apparently caused some cheering at the premiere.
There had been reports that this joked was originally intended with the Queen and the Pope, but apparently Harry Potter and Trump were more suitable.
Now, The Huffington Post exclusively reported today that Sony did not want that scene in there, but because Baron Cohen had final approval power, they’re apparently very “nervous about angering the famously vengeful and litigious Trump.”
Especially that whole “possible next president” thing.
Of course, it’s not like this is the first time Baron Cohen has tried to ridicule The Donald:
I never fall for scams. I am the only person who immediately walked out of my ‘Ali G’ interview
