Sony Obtains Film Rights for Greenwald’s Snowden, NSA Book
Glenn Greenwald has a new book out this week about the NSA and Edward Snowden. It has literally been out for one day, and already Sony has optioned the film rights for the book, and are quickly moving forward with a movie about the NSA whistleblower. And the two men already attached to the project are none other than the producers of the James Bond films.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Greenwald’s No Place to Hide will be adapted as a political thriller to give viewers a unique perspective into the mind of Edward Snowden. In a statement, Greenwald said, “Growing up, I was heavily influenced by political films, and am excited about the opportunity to be part of a political film that will resonate with today’s moviegoers.”
Now the only question remains is who will play Snowden in the movie? Well, it’s obviously gotta be someone with some serious acting chops, but if you want to draw in the young people, your best bet is someone from Twilight or Divergent.
