Syrian Electronic Army Claims to Have Control Over Twitter.com
A hacker group aligned with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad claims to have obtained control over theTwitter.com domain.
In a tweet Tuesday afternoon, the Syrian Electronic Army (SEA) boasted that it altered some of the registry information for Twitter.com, effectively putting it under their control:
We’ll update when Twitter comments on the subject. In the meantime, we now know that the New York Times was definitely the victim of an SEA hacking.
