T-Mobile Hired Corey Lewandowski-Linked Lobbying Firm for Advice on Sprint Merger

Cellular provider T-Mobile is paying for advice from former Donald Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski on their upcoming merger with Sprint, according to a Wall Street Journal report.
On Thursday, T-Mobile announced that it hired Turnberry Solutions back in August to help secure federal approval of the merging of the two companies in a takeover deal.
Along with that hire came Lewandowski, according to their own statement obtained by WSJ.
“Corey Lewandowski is now affiliated with that firm and they have offered perspective to T-Mobile on a variety of topics, including the pending transaction,” the company said in a statement made months after the deal was struck.
The linking of Turnberry Solutions to the former campaign manager is noteworthy because previously Lewandowski has denied a connection to iti, despite a Politico report linking him to the firm from September, one month after the T-Mobile deal was struck.
It also appears that Lewandowski, whose exact role remains murky, is getting a cut.
The WSJ reports Lewandowski “receives a cut of the fees paid to the lobbying firm on the T-Mobile contract [and] the precise nature of his work with Turnberry Solutions and how long he has worked with the firm are unclear.”
In another curious note, while the contract with T-Mobile started back in August, Turnberry did not register their work until January of the next year, despite rules requiring lobby firms within 45 days.
Turnberry and Lewandowski declined to speak to the Wall Street Journal for their report.
