The Five Predicts Trump Will Be Back on Twitter: ‘Not Gonna Be Able to Help Himself’

Cohosts of The Five reacted giddily to the news that Elon Musk will purchase Twitter for $44 billion on Monday, hailing it as a victory for free speech.

The consensus around the table was that Musk will allow Donald Trump to return to Twitter and that the former president will oblige, despite saying he would not rejoin the platform.

“I am not going on Twitter, I am going to stay on TRUTH,” Trump declared, referring to the currently struggling social media platform he launched.

“I’m a big Elon Musk fan, and I assume because he’s a genius that this is a good deal for him,” said Geraldo Rivera, who noted Trump’s comments about staying away from the platform even if his permanent ban is overturned.

Jeanine Pirro asked, “But why do you think he said it?”

“Because he owns Truth Social,” replied Rivera, who predicted Trump would not be sticking to his guns. “Knowing him for so many years, I’ll think he’ll change his mind in 10 minutes.”

“He will,” Pirro agreed.

“I think this is bad news for Truth Social because he’s not gonna be able to help himself,” opined Greg Gutfeld. “He’s gonna hop back on.”

Gutfeld marveled at Musk’s acquisition.

“Think about having so much money that you can just get mildly irritated over something and then buy the thing that irritated you,” said Gutfeld.

“That’s my dream,” Dana Perino replied.

Twitter permanently suspended Trump’s Twitter account after the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol insurrection. Trump had spent two months lying to his supporters that the 2020 presidential election had been stolen from him.
