The Internet Flipped Out Over BuzzFeed Exploding a Watermelon
BuzzFeed exploded a watermelon and the internet completely lost it. (It’s more interesting than it sounds.)
It’s Friday, so naturally BuzzFeed had a live video going on Facebook putting tons and tons of rubber bands around a watermelon to see how many it could withstand before exploding.
Here’s a GIF of the moment when it all went, well, kablooie:

Don’t worry, the BuzzFeed employees who exploded the melon are okay:

The #snark and #content gods thank you on this day, BuzzFeed.
Now, while you might think this was entirely pointless, hundreds of thousands of people watched the watermelon explode. Not to mention this is a good instructional video on how to defend yourself against fresh fruit.
