Earlier this week, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) sat down with Stephen Colbert ahead of next week’s midterms and invited The Late Show into her greenroom for a blind taste test. And the results were shared Thursday night.
Speaking to the camera, Pelosi referred to herself as a “chocoholic” and a fan of Ghirardelli chocolate, a famous dessert staple from her hometown of San Francisco. So in order to find out how big of a fan she is of Ghirardelli, The Late Show had Pelosi blindfolded and had her do a taste test between her beloved brand of chocolate and another.
In the first round, she began by taking a bite of Demet’s chocolate, which she thought was “nice.” But she did go with Ghirardelli because she likes “darker chocolate.”
In the second round, she took a sip of Swiss Miss hot chocolate followed by the Ghirardelli one. And surprisingly, she said Swiss Miss was “much better.”
And in the final round. she compared the smells of a box of Betty Crocker brownie mix versus Ghirardelli brownie mix. She was able to correctly identify the Ghirardelli mix.
“I don’t know what the purpose of this is,” Pelosi admitted, “but whatever it is, come to my office and you’ll always find Ghirardelli chocolate”
