The View‘s Sara Haines Hits Stormy Daniels For SNL Cameo: I Would’ve Told Her ‘Don’t Do This’
With Meghan McCain absent from The View on Monday, it fell to someone else to provide the dissenting opinion during the show’s opening segment. And that someone was Sara Haines.
In a debate over the Stormy Daniels cameo on Saturday Night Live, Haines criticized the porn star — saying an SNL appearance plays into the hands of those (like Rudy Giuliani) who claim Daniels is simply on a quest for fame.
“I thought the jokes were hilarious,” Haines said. “But being that the biggest counterpunch to her is that she’s looking for fame, and she has said in every interview, “No, I want to clear up my story.’ I found, for me, if I were advising her, I would’ve said, ‘Don’t do this. It was hysterical. But it already feeds into what everyone else said.”
Haines stood alone among the View hosts.
“[Daniels] was pretty straight forward [during her View appearance], and honest lady,” Joy Behar said. “She’s having a little fun. I don’t think it hurts her at all.”
“Sometimes even the most credible people need a break,” Whoopi Goldberg added. “And so maybe this was just her way of having a little fun at [President Donald Trump‘s] expense. And, you know, it’s all right. It didn’t bother me.”
Haines agreed with the panel’s consensus that Daniels is credible. But, she added, “It’s hard when you try to tell someone that, and they’re like, “And…there she was on SNL.”
