This Exists: Kazakhstan Is Making An Unofficial Sequel To Borat
Remember the movie Borat, Sacha Baron Cohen’s mockumentary about a Kazakh reporter travelling around American and getting into hilarious scrapes? Well, the people of Kazakhstan certainly do and they’re getting their revenge with a new unofficial sequel entitled My Brother, Borat. The people behind it hope that the film will show “the real Kazakhstan” and that the country is not the backwards disaster it was depicted as in the original 2006 film. Obviously this is a great idea because nothing shows how advanced you are as a society like showing that your feelings are still hurt over comedy that came out four years ago.
The new movie will follow John, an American journalist who is inspired by the earlier film to travel to Kazakhstan where he is led around by Borat’s brother Bilo AKA a dude in a cheap Borat Halloween costume. There he will, presumably, see a glorious and modern country. There will also be, if I’m interpreting the clip below correctly, at least one scene where Bilo gets something forcibly inserted into his posterior. Ah, comedy.
Now if only the fashion world will make a sequel to Bruno, we’ll have a great double feature. I’ll have to ask the Styleite crew to make it happen.
Check out the Kazakh news story (in English) below on the upcoming film to see Bilo in action as well as the movie’s director, Erkin Rakishev, challenging 20th Century Fox to sue him. Yeah, good luck with that.
