This MSNBC Chyron Over Trump’s Speech Is More Sass Than Fact-Check

This election season has seen an increase in unusual chyrons as cable networks scramble to find a way to correct lies that are being said on live television. These “fact-checking” chyrons are sure to be remembered as a hallmark of the 2016 race, but though they’ve only been around a short time, they’re already evolving and morphing.

MSNBC is no stranger to the fact-checking chyrons, but the way the network progressed theirs today as Donald Trump addressed an audience:

Trump was questioning why his rival, Hillary Clinton, is “in hiding.” MSNBC decided to let viewers know that her very public speech was coming up next.

That’s borderline sassy but then again, this is a wild election season. Expect the unexpected.
