Three Gov’t Employees Are Facing Criminal Charges Over Flint Water Crisis

 

flintThree Michigan government employees have all been charged with misconduct in their response to the Flint water crisis.

The presence of lead in the town water burst onto the national scene months ago, and there have been all sorts of calls for people to get fired or resign. An EPA official resigned, and Governor Rick Snyder has attempted to be transparent while maintaining that he doesn’t plan on resigning.

In fact, Snyder today dismissed the idea that he would face any charges for negligence.

But according to CNN, three government employees––former lab and water quality supervisor Mike Glasgow, Department of Environmental Quality official Stephen Busch, district water engineer Mike Prysby––have all been charged on everything from evidence tampering to misconduct.

Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette announced the charges at a press conference today and said those three individuals “failed to discharge their duties.”
