Trump Advisor Carl Paladino: There’s ‘No Doubt’ That Obama is a Muslim

Carl Paladino, the New York co-chair to Donald Trump‘s campaign, gave an interview on Thursday where said he’s convinced that President Obama is secretly a Muslim.

During a phone interview with New York Observer, the Buffalo businessman went off-topic in order to tear into the Obama Administration for how it has handled foreign policy in the Middle East.

“In the mind of the average American, there is no doubt he is a Muslim, he is not a Christian,” Paladino said. “Look at what he’s done with Iran, what he’s done with the Sunni-Shia thing over in Iraq and Iran, and with ISIS.”

Indications on Obama’s faith would strongly suggest that he is a Christian, though critics have tried smearing him for years by accusing him of practicing Islam. Trump and his supporters have entertained these smears as well throughout the mogul’s campaign.

The Observer has endorsed Trump for president and it is owned by his son-in-law Jared Kushner. Their piece acknowledged that Obama was a member of Chicago’s Trinity United Church of Christ for years before he became president, even if they didn’t acknowledge that Obama has attended church multiple times since then. The piece also noted that Obama was hit with another one of the old conspiracy theories this week when former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski revived “birther” questions against him.
