Trump Advisor Michael Flynn Deletes Twitter Profile a Day After Son’s Account Shuts Down

flynnIt would seem that General Michael Flynn and his family won’t be tweeting any time soon.

Flynn, a retired Army lieutenant general and national security adviser to President Trump, has apparently deleted his Twitter account. Anyone who clicks on the @GenFlynn account will be directed to Twitter’s default page for suspended accounts.

Flynn was known for spreading pro-Trump messages online, though his Twitter activity was a source of controversy due to his tendency to push ultra right-wing stories which included fake news and conspiracy theories. Flynn had this in common with his son and business partner, Michael Flynn Jr., who deleted his account during the weekend.

It is unclear why the elder Flynn’s account was deleted, but Flynn Jr.’s account went down after several tweets where he described Trump’s immigration-restricting executive orders as a Muslim ban, despite the claims from the Trump administration to the contrary. The younger Flynn was also a source of conspiratorial headlines during the transition period when he furthered the unsubstantiated #Pizzagate claims on his social media feeds.
