Trump Alleges Clinton-Russia Ties in New Tweet

In the run-up to FBI Director James Comey‘s testimony on President Donald Trump‘s claims of wiretapping, the president issued a tweet suggesting that the Clinton campaign had contact with the Russian government and that the FBI had tried — but been unable — to investigate the matter with the Democratic National Committee.

The sweeping new broadside came after a flurry of tweets earlier this morning disparaging allegations that his campaign had maintained contact with the Russian government.
Earlier this month, a spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the country’s ambassador to the United States, Sergey Kislyak, had met with various Clinton aligned think tanks and advisors to her campaign.
