Trump Attacks Clyburn in Real-Time Over Covid Testing During Fauci Hearing: He ‘Doesn’t Have A Clue’

President Donald Trump attacked Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) in real-time for saying Trump “failed” the United States with a lack of Covid-19 tests during the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis’ hearing featuring testimony from Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Robert Redfield.

In the his opening remarks, Clyburn said on Friday, “Regrettably, nearly six months after this virus claimed its first American life, the federal government has still not yet developed and implemented a national strategy to protect the American people. The administration has failed on testing.”

Clyburn also referenced a Vanity Fair report that detailed Trump’s senior adviser Jared Kushner’s failed national testing plan, and how early Covid-19 numbers hitting “blue states” the hardest reportedly affected their decision to move testing responsibility to a state-by-state basis.

“Some states have been forced to ration scarce tests limiting them to only the sickest patients,” Clyburn continued. “Without widely available rapid testing, it is nearly impossible to control the spread of the virus and safely reopen our economy.”

A little over 40 minutes after Clyburn’s remarks, Trump bashed the acting chairman for saying the federal government has “failed on testing.”

Trump tweeted, “Somebody please tell Congressman Clyburn, who doesn’t have a clue, that the chart he put up indicating more CASES for the U.S. than Europe, is because we do MUCH MORE testing than any other country in the World. If we had no testing, or bad testing, we would show very few CASES.”

“Our massive testing capability, rather than being praised, is used by the Lamestream Media and their partner, the Do Nothing Radical Left Democrats, as a point of scorn,” Trump continued on Twitter. “This testing, and what we have so quickly done, is used as a Fake News weapon. Sad!”
