Trump: Current Abortion Laws Are ‘Set’ and ‘I Think We Have to Leave It That Way’
If you thought Donald Trump was done giving confusing interviews on abortion this week, guess again.
In a preview of Trump’s full Face the Nation interview Sunday, CBS’ John Dickerson confronted Trump about what he would do to limit abortion as president.
Trump first insisted he was just answering a “hypothetical” from Chris Matthews, made some odd reference to an “older line answer,” and said, “The laws are set now on abortion and that’s the way they’re gonna remain until they’re changed.”
But literally seconds later, he said, “At this moment, the laws are set, and I think we have to leave it that way.”
Dickerson repeatedly pressed Trump on whether he thinks abortion is murder––something that many pro-lifers openly admit. Trump squirmed and refused to give his opinion, simply saying that he doesn’t disagree with it.
