Trump Defends ‘Nice Man’ Paul Manafort: They’re Treating Him Like He’s ‘Al Capone’

President Donald Trump, in the waning moments of his interview Monday with Sean Hannity on Fox News, defended his embattled former campaign manager Paul Manafort — who is currently sitting in jail awaiting trial on a host of charges, inluding conspiracy against the United States.

Speaking with the Fox News host, Trump blasted the treatment of Manafort — claiming it’s on par with that of one of America’s most notorious criminals.

“Paul Manafort, who clearly is a nice man,” Trump said. “You look at what’s going on with him, it’s like Al Capone…It’s just a sad thing. It’s a very sad thing for our country.”
