Trump Golf Partner on His Round With POTUS: ‘He Talked About a Lot of the Properties He Has’

President Donald Trump got plenty of golf in over the holiday break — hitting the links in Florida for seven consecutive days from Dec. 26 through Jan. 1. Tuesday morning, one of Trump’s playing partners dished on his experience with POTUS, and you’ll never guess what they talked about: Trump’s golf properties.

Appearing on New Day, former PGA Tour player Fred Funk — an eight-time winner on Tour best known for his 2005 victory at The Players Championship — appeared with his son Taylor to share some stories about their 18 holes with the president.

“He owns a lot of golf courses,” Funk said. “And they are in top-notch shape. And he takes pride in that. And it’s something that he’s really proud of. He’s proud of I think every property, ’cause he talked about a lot of the properties he has.”

Trump boasting about Trump. Not a stunner. Equally unsurprising was Taylor Funk’s claim that the President played a killer round.

“He actually played well,” Funk said. “I was very surprised. He shot even par on the front [nine] and played decent on the back [nine] too. But he’s definitely a lot better than I thought he was going to be. He was a good player.”

For those unfamiliar with golf, a score of even par over nine holes on a difficult course such as Trump’s Palm Beach track would be extremely impressive for a 71-year-old man of any skill level, even a pro. We’ve previously posted about similarly outlandish claims touting Trump’s abilities. Once again, we are skeptical.
