Trump: Justice Ginsburg Didn’t Really Apologize, But I Guess I’ll Accept It Anyway
Donald Trump says he’s prepared to move on from his feud with Ruth Bader Ginsburg even though he doesn’t think the Supreme Court Justice’s apology was sincere.
The mogul and judicial luminary have been sparing with each other after Ginsburg called Trump a “faker” and repeatedly blasted his politics over the past few days. The Hill reported on Trump’s appearance on The Herman Cain Show today, where he said that Ginsburg wasn’t sincere with her new statement about regretting her “ill-advised” remarks.
“It wasn’t really an apology, but we have to move on anyway,” Trump said. “It’s just a very disappointing moment for me because the Supreme Court is above that kind of rhetoric… But she acknowledged she made a mistake and I’ll accept that.”
It is unusual for Supreme Court justices to give their opinions on the political going-ons of the day, and Ginsburg’s comments drew criticism before and after walking things back. Multiple media outlets, even ones known to report negatively on Trump, questioned the wisdom of her outspokenness on a presidential candidate.
